A film school graduate and self-produced emcee, Jamaal wrote the first Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) and Common-Core standards-based Emcee/Spoken Word Curriculum, which he began implementing in schools, non-profits, and the juvenile justice system in 2004. He is a recent Grand Prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for his song “This Isn’t Art” which he also wrote and produced.
