This #GivingTuesday, embrace radical generosity by supporting Today’s Future Sound, a nonprofit organization that believes in the power of Hip Hop to transform people’s lives. Our beat making and music production program has educational, therapeutic, and social components that build confidence, inspire creativity, and help individuals create positive change.
In 2021, TFS continued its commitment to the Bay Area by engaging over 2000 Bay Area youth.
Through a third year of support from California Arts Council’s JumpSTART program, TFS was happy to continue collaborating with nonprofit Rhythmic Mind to deliver Hip Hop therapy to system-engaged youth at Alameda County Juvenile Hall.
In 2021, TFS deepened its commitment to houseless youth, collaborating and initiating partnerships with Family Matters and East Oakland Community Project. With your support, this commitment will ramp up in 2022.
Though it’s been a hard year, TFS is proud to have joined people together in ways we couldn’t have imagined. TFS’s virtual, inaugural adult program, the #GlobalBeatCypher, reached 1500 people per week through livestream, and was an important source of healing, community-building, and connection for our extended community. Many members of our #GlobalBeatCypher family are now guest speakers and teaching artists in our TFS classrooms.
