We’re elated to announce that we got the grant! The California Arts Council has awarded Today’s Future Sound a JUMP StARTs grant for our Alameda County Juvenile Hall Music Production Program as part of its biggest investment in arts and culture statewide since 2001.
With CAC funding, TFS will deliver interdisciplinary, culturally-sustaining, and therapeutic arts education to system-engaged youth in Alameda County Juvenile Hall. One-on-one and in small groups, students work with music industry professionals to compose their own music, make beats using digital software, learn the fundamentals of audio engineering, and produce an original album. Anchored by art, students forge connections with mentors and peers and develop positive self images that onramp them into successful adulthood. This monumental support will enable TFS to exponentially increase the impact of its three-year partnership with Alameda County Juvenile Hall.
